Excellent and friendly service, in fact the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, friendly and courteous. They allowed us an early check in as our room was ready. They recommended an excellent local restaurant (the Marie Verte) and they even allowed us to leave our bag in reception after we’d checked-out. They spoke good English and tolerated (or even encouraged) my feeble attempts at speaking French!
The hotel is in a good central location right by the St Michel metro, quite near to the RER and in the heart of the Latin Quarter (it won’t be quiet but it is double-glazed so it’s fairly soundproof).
It’s very clean throughout and smartly presented (especially compared to some of the surrounding establishments!). Our double room was clean and had good facilities. It wasn’t very big, but perfectly adequate for us to be comfortable. The bed was comfortable (sheets and blankets, not duvets which we would have preferred).
One thing that wasn’t clear from our booking was that (on the internet deal at least) breakfast was not included in the room rate we paid. We ended up finding a cafe instead just to see more of Paris so we can’t advise on what the breakfast is like.
On the whole we loved it and would definitely stay here again! Thanks Hotel Albe.
